FAQ

Everything people actually ask. If yours isn’t here, just message me.

Wearing them

How long will they actually last?

With glue: about 10 to 14 days. Some people get three weeks, some get a week — it depends on your nails, how well you prep, how much glue you use, and what you do with your hands all day.

With sticky tabs: about 3 to 5 days. Tabs are for a weekend, a dance, a photoshoot. They’re gentler and they come off easily, which is the whole point of them.

You’ll see brands claim 3 or 4 weeks. Some people really do get that. But I’d rather tell you the honest middle than have you disappointed on day nine.

Glue or tabs — which should I use?

Glue if you want them to last. Tabs if you want them off again soon, or if it’s your first time and you want to practise.

Useful thing to know: how much glue you use is a dial. A thin layer gives you a few days. A fuller layer takes longer to dissolve off and gives you longer wear. So you can genuinely choose.

Every set comes with glue. Ask if you’d like tabs instead and I’ll put those in.

How do I put them on so they last?
  1. Lay them all out first and match every nail to the right finger before you glue anything.
  2. Push your cuticles back and file the shine off your natural nail. This is the step everyone skips and it’s the one that matters most.
  3. Wipe each nail with alcohol or the prep pad. No oil, no lotion, no moisture.
  4. Glue on your nail, not just on the press-on. A thin layer on both.
  5. Press from the cuticle down at a slight angle, then hold for 30 seconds. Properly 30 — count it.
  6. No water for an hour. No shower, no washing up.
Will they wreck my natural nails?

Not if you take them off properly. What damages nails is pulling them off — that rips off layers of your actual nail with them.

Soak your fingertips in warm soapy water, or oil, for 10–15 minutes until the glue softens and the nail lifts on its own. If it doesn’t move, soak it longer. Never force it.

Can I wear them again?

Usually yes, if you took them off gently. Peel the old glue off the back, give them a wipe, and they’re good to go again. Sets with a lot of 3D work are more fragile, so treat those more carefully.

Keep them in the case they came in — that’s what it’s for.

Ordering

How does the whole thing work?
  1. You send me what you’re picturing — inspo pictures, colours, the occasion.
  2. I quote you, and then draw your actual set in Procreate so you can see it before it exists.
  3. You approve it, or tell me what to change. Two rounds of changes are free.
  4. I make it by hand and get it to you in a hard case with glue.

You don’t pay anything until you’ve seen and approved the design.

How long does it take?

7 to 10 days from the day you approve your design. The design part usually happens within a day or two of you asking.

Most press-on shops quote two to four weeks because everything ships. I’m local and I hand most sets over in person, so I don’t have that problem.

Need it faster? Rush is +$15 and gets it to you in three days. I only take one rush a week, and a rush order can’t be cancelled once I’ve started.

What does it cost?

Sets start at $30 and go up by how much work is in them — the full breakdown is on the pricing section.

Rather than making you guess which tier you’re in, send me your inspo and I’ll tell you, before you commit to anything.

How do I pay?

Cash, Venmo or Zelle. A 50% deposit when you approve your design, the rest when it’s ready.

The deposit is what holds your slot and covers the materials I buy for your specific set — which is why it’s non-refundable once I’ve started making it.

Can I change the design after I’ve approved it?

Before you approve: change anything, as many times as you like within two rounds. That’s exactly what the mockup is for.

After you approve: I’ve started buying materials and building it, so the design is locked. A third round of changes before approval is $10.

Sizing

How do I know my size?

Best answer: let me measure you, in person or on a quick video call. Both are free, both take minutes, and both put your set under the Fit Promise.

Otherwise there’s a $6 sizing kit that you get credited back, or you can measure yourself in millimetres. Full instructions on the sizing guide.

What if they don’t fit?

If I measured you, I remake the set free. Send a photo of it on your hand within 7 days.

If you measured yourself, I can’t remake it — but I always leave the side edges of every nail clear of decoration specifically so you can file one down to fit. A nail that’s slightly too big is fixable in about ten seconds.

Do you do toes?

Yes. On their own, or matching a hand set for $20 more. Toe sizing is simpler — I need your big toes measured properly and small/medium/large is fine for the rest.

If something goes wrong

A stone fell off / a 3D piece lifted

Within the first two weeks, send that nail back and I’ll fix it free. You just cover postage. That’s my work not holding up, so it’s on me.

I lost a nail down the sink

Happens to everyone. I keep your sizes and your design on file, so I’ll just make you another one — $8, or $12 if it’s a 3D or charm nail.

Can I return a set?

No — every set is made for your hands and your design, so it’s worth nothing to anyone else. All sales are final. The Fit Promise, the free repair and the replacement service exist so that “no returns” doesn’t leave you stuck.

Full details on the policies page.

Will it look exactly like the mockup?

Very close, but these are hand-painted, so there’ll be tiny variations — that’s what handmade means. Colours also look different on screens than in real life. If an exact colour match matters, tell me and I’ll swatch it for you first.
